On July 14, Mr. Ken Haig, Head of Energy and Environment Policy, Asia Pacific and Ms. Tracy Chang, Energy Procurement Manager of Amazon Web Services, gave a lecture in the endowed courses at Akita International University supported by Mitsubishi Corporation, Venti Japan, Hokuto Bank and us.
In this class, the lecturers reviewed the background of climate change factors and trends, then talked about what can be considered as the measures for decarbonization (carbon reduction, carbon removal), and what impact they can make, based on the statistics from each country and GHG protocols. They also explained the initiatives for net-zero carbon that Amazon is committed to achieve.
