We will utilize every means available to achieve a carbon-neutral society by 2050.
In July 2022, Mitsubishi Corporation Offshore Wind Ltd. had taken over Mitsubishi Corporation Energy Solutions Ltd.(MCES)’s offshore wind power generation business, including three projects which were awarded in December 2021 to the consortium led by MCES under the Act on Promoting the Utilization of Sea Areas for the Development of Marine Renewable Energy Power Generation Facilities.
- Off the Coast of Yurihonjo City, Akita Prefecture
- Off the Coast of Noshiro City, Mitane Town and Oga City, Akita Prefecture
- Off the Coast of Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture
With Japan’s low energy self-sufficiency rate and its location surrounded by the seas on all sides, offshore wind power will be an extremely important power source for the energy security of Japan. We will work hard to contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society by 2050, through our effort to successfully commission 3 offshore wind power projects, which will also be marked as an important milestone in Japan’s energy policy.
