On April 21, at Akita International University's endowed course supported by Mitsubishi Corporation, Venty Japan, Hokuto Bank and us, a lecture on the theme of "Global Energy Transition and Japan" was given by Mika Obayashi, Director General of Renewable Energy Institute, overviewing the global trends of energy mix and energy situation at each country in the face of the turmoil in Ukraine.
There was a group work session in the latter half of the class, where students actively debated between themselves and with lecturers on the ideal state of sustainable energy and the measures for expanding its deployment. Next time, Mitsubishi Corporation's Sustainability Dept. will give a lecture on international agreements on sustainability and contributions from the private sector.
